Mark's Poem

Congratulations on another year

A memorable one — let’s make that clear.

What a milestone to command:

Eighty years of this fine band.

Your concerts sparkled, start to end;

December’s show was a superb festive blend.

And at the xmas lights switch‑on display,

You brought warm magic to a cool day!

But much of what keeps you sounding grand

Happens quietly, carefully planned —

The practice, prep, the steady pace,

The work that never shows on stage.

So it’s time to take a bow;

Your music lifts the whole town now —

From flower shows to classic cars,

And Oktoberfest beneath the stars,

You play with cheer in sun or rain,

And set our feet tapping again and again.

So thank you all, with heart and hand,

Burnham and Highbridge Town Band.
